What buyer’s premium is charged?
Buyer’s premium is 25% including VAT for Irish Art, Irish Old Masters, Fine Jewellery & Watches, Jewellery Box, Fine Watches, Mid-Century Modern and Wine & Spirits. For Fine & Decorative Arts auctions and all other lots included in online-only auctions — including ‘At Home’ interiors auctions, The Library Sale, Country House Collections, warehouse / online furniture auctions, Asian Art, online picture auctions and works on paper / books and literature — it is 30% including VAT.
What commission is charged to sellers?
Sellers’ commission varies depending on the type of item or auction — please contact a member of the relevant department to discuss commission.
What happens if my item does not sell?
If an item does not sell there is an unsold fee of €25 per lot. We ask clients to contact us to arrange collection of unsold items the week after the auction.
Are valuations free?
Informal valuations are complimentary. We are happy to provide a free valuation over the phone or by email. If you require a formal Valuation Certificate for insurance, probate or market purposes there is a fee.
Do I have to make an appointment?
We do have a walk-in service, though we recommend you call our offices in advance to make sure the relevant valuer is available. If you wish to have multiple pieces valued it is advisable to make an appointment so we can give you sufficient time with our valuers.
How do I receive auction catalogues?
If you have bought in the last two auctions you will receive a complimentary auction catalogue. Catalogue subscriptions are also available.
Where are you?
We are located in the centre of the city on St. Stephen’s Green North and Kildare Street, right beside The Shelbourne Hotel, with regular bus services to the airport and a Luas stop and taxi rank within walking distance.
