Adam’s Valuation Department is proficient in the appraisal, for various purposes, of whole collections as well as single items. We offer a comprehensive, professional and discreet valuation service providing expert appraisal for market value, insurance, probate and family division.

Free auction valuations

Adam’s offer a free valuation service in our salerooms on St. Stephen’s Green. We recommend initially sending in photographs, by post or email to info@adams.ie, together with any other relevant information, which we can use as a preliminary valuation. Informal valuations are complimentary — we are happy to provide a free valuation over the phone or by email. The service is free and there is no obligation to sell. We offer friendly, informed, professional advice in the strictest of confidence.

Formal valuations for insurance, probate & family division

If you require a formal Valuation Certificate for insurance, probate or market purposes there is a fee, which depends on the number of pieces in the collection and the value of the items. To get a quote for a formal valuation, speak with the relevant specialist. With this experience we are regularly instructed by institutions of State, national cultural institutions, universities, financial and other major corporate bodies and major private collectors, and valuations of domestic contents are undertaken at very competitive rates.

How it works

1. Send us images — the easiest way to get a valuation is to email us images of your items; your email will be passed to the relevant valuer.
2. Speak with a specialist — the valuer will contact you to discuss the pieces and advise on next steps if you are interested in selling.
3. Visit us or arrange a house call — we have a walk-in service, though we recommend calling in advance to make sure the relevant valuer is available; for multiple pieces please make an appointment. For a large collection we are happy to call out to your home — please email a sample of images so we can send the most suitable person.
